Fundraising
The raison d'etre for the Bristol to Bordeaux ride is to raise much needed funds for Props, a Bristol based charity dedicated to supporting adults with learning difficulties to achieve their full potential in our community. The charity is reliant on the fundraising efforts of a whole host of incredible individuals who run, walk, swim, play rugby, bake, sew, sing and, of course, cycle to raise money.
For 2026 we are asking each rider to raise a minimum of £1000 through fundraising.
The easiest way to do this is with a Props Fundraising page. It's the quick, easy and safe way to raise sponsorship and has the added advantage of allowing the charity to automatically claim Gift Aid on all donations from UK tax payers.
And remember, unlike a lot of other charity rides, because all the costs of the B2B are covered by the riders, every single penny of sponsorship raised goes to the charity Props
You don't need to worry about creating a page, we'll set up the basic page for you and email you with the details. You can then personalise it, adding your own story and photos and then start sharing with all your friends, family and colleagues.

Poppy’s Story
Poppy joined Props in February 2025 after spending more than six months out of education and without structured support. Since starting with us, she has made exceptional progress across our Sports, Baking, and Café services.
Her confidence has increased significantly. Poppy is now far more comfortable engaging with others and is becoming increasingly independent. For example, she now feels confident enough to buy her own snack in the café—something she previously found difficult.
Within the Café service, Poppy has taken on a variety of customer-facing responsibilities, including operating the till, providing table service, and helping to prepare food. The recent expansion of the café’s seating area into an outdoor space has created even more opportunities for her to strengthen her customer service skills and develop her communication with a wider range of people.
Poppy’s growing confidence extends beyond Props as well. Her mum has shared that she is now more willing to speak up in the community, take the lead in everyday situations, and no longer depends on others to step in on her behalf.
Overall, Poppy’s progress represents a significant and very positive change, demonstrating the impact of consistent, personalised support on her independence, wellbeing, and future opportunities.
Ellie’s Story
Ellie joined Props in September 2025 after finishing college and is now an active member of our Food Crew. As part of this group, she takes part in our life skills sessions, which include planning and purchasing ingredients for our cafés and hospitality services.
When Ellie first arrived, she found the new environment challenging. She often felt overwhelmed, needed frequent reassurance, and sought regular breaks throughout the day. Ellie was open about needing support, and staff worked closely with her to build her confidence and coping strategies.
A key factor in Ellie’s progress has been Props’ community-based setting, which offers a very different experience from the more formal, classroom-based environments she was used to in college. Being surrounded by real customers, members of the public and everyday community interactions has given Ellie meaningful opportunities to build her soft skills—such as communication, problem solving, emotional regulation, and independence—in a natural, practical context.
